Livingston wins Miss Troy University title

Madina Seytmuradova Staff Writer Leah Livingston, a junior communication major from Miami, was crowned Miss Troy University 2016 at a competition that took place on Saturday, Oct. 24, in Claudia Crosby Theater. Ten students competed in the 45th annual pageant, performing in private interview, swimsuit, talent, evening gown and on-stage question competition. Fraternity organizes bottled water fundraiser for South Carolina

Franchesca Perez Staff Writer Troy University’s Omega Psi Phi fraternity is holding a bottled water drive in an effort to help supply water to victims of the South Carolina flooding. Hurricane Joaquin brought on severe storms and record rainfall, leaving devastation in South Carolina in early October. According to CNN reports, 11 people have been declared dead—seven drowned, and four died in traffic accidents. Taylor Boydstun Staff Writer The Troy University football team picked up its first conference win on Saturday, Oct. 24, defeating New Mexico State 52-7 in Aggie Memorial Stadium. The Trojans (2-5, 1-2 Sun Belt) dominated the game from start to finish, led by sophomore quarterback Brandon Silvers, who completed 23 of 37 passes for 288 yards.
