The Trojans topped the Saints, and then defeated the reigning national champions, Florida State, 6-1. In game one of the double header, both teams remained quiet through the first five and a half innings of play. In high school, Mirly found herself involved in every sport she could play, including softball, soccer, volleyball and basketball. Scott Shelton Staff Writer The Troy softball team fell 7-0 to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a mid-week showdown against No. 23 Mississippi State. With the loss, Troy’s record moves to 28-21 overall and 12-10 in the Sun Belt Conference. The team debuted a new uniform in support of cancer awareness and Mississippi State player, Alex Wilcox. That streak was snapped Wednesday though, as the Trojans were shut out at home by Sun Belt rival South Alabama by a score of 7-0.
