Troy students dive into fall intramural season

Megan Phillips Staff Writer Last Saturday, Aug. 24, the Troy University intramural office kicked off the 2013-2014 season with a splash at the Fall Swim Meet in the McDowell Lee Natatorium. The event is just one of many that will be offered to Troy University students this fall, including ping-pong, flag football, soccer and more. All students are invited to participate in intramurals here on campus. Volleyball adjusting to playing in new arena

The arena opened in the fall of 2012 when the men’s and women’s basketball teams began their respective seasons. Volleyball is making the transition from Sartain Hall to Trojan Arena for their 2013 season and  one main difference the arena has over Sartain Hall is the two 767 square foot video boards. ‘Liberty, Markets, Great Books’ program offers 10 scholarships

A new reading program will offer $1,000 scholarships to 10 students who will study classic books about economics, literature and political philosophy. The Johnson Center for Political Economy will accept applications through Friday in Bibb Graves Hall. Johnson Center faculty will lead the “Liberty, Markets and the Great Books” program.
