Women’s basketball clenches Sun Belt seed

Wally Pendergrass Staff Writer The Troy women’s basketball team extended its winning streak to five games, knocking off conference leader UALR, while junior guard Ashley Beverly-Kelley earned both conference and national awards. Beverly-Kelley was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week and was also named National Mid-Major Player of the Week by CollegeSportsMadness.com, on Monday, Feb. 24. Michael Shipma Staff Writer Troy’s men’s basketball team split its last two games from last weekend as it continued its road success this season with a win over the Sun Belt’s top-seeded team, Georgia Southern, 65-62, but lost at home to UALR by a score of 63-58. Softball team wins four out of five at Trojan Invitational

The team won its first game 6-5 against the University of Connecticut Huskies on Friday, Feb. 20. The starting pitchers were junior Sara Mock for Troy and sophomore Kayla Doty for the Huskies.
