Women’s golf faces stiff competition, finished 13th

Wesley Kirchharr Staff Writer The Troy women’s golf team placed 13th out of 20 teams at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. It shot a collective 59-over 923, scoring 307-303-313 over the course of a competitive three rounds of play. Senior Fátima Fernandez Cano led the Trojans, tying for 19th place with an 8-over 224 score. After losing to ULM 2-3 and to Little Rock 0-2, Troy almost missed out on postseason play, but a 1-1 draw between Texas State and ULM gave it the lift it needed to sneak into the seeding.
