The Trojan track and field team are coming back from Birmingham, Alabama, where the squad competed in the Samford Invitational.

By the end of the meet, the Trojans had 11 athletes place with Kady Schwietz competed in seven total events.

Schwietz placed fourth in the 100m hurdles, second in the high jump, sixth in shot put, fourth in 200m, second in the long jump and 10th in the javelin throw. The freshman from Plano, Texas dominated her final event, which was the 800m, crossing the finish line with a time of 2:24:38. Last week’s Sun Belt Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, Javon Osbourne, continued his hot streak with his fourth first-place finish in the discus throw. The sophomore landed a 56.75m throw on his second attempt after fouling on his first attempt. Along with Osbourne, two other Trojans landed within the top-5.
