Sinclair Portis Staff Writer The Troy volleyball team fell to its archrival South Alabama, three sets to one, on Tuesday, Oct. 27, in Mobile. The Trojans (13-13, 6-6) looked to take a series sweep this season against the Jaguars (13-9, 7-4), but they were unable to keep up with their conference foe in the final three sets. Sinclair Portis Staff Writer The Trojan volleyball team picked up its eighth straight victory, defeating UL-Monroe 3-1 on Friday, Oct. 16, and UL-Lafayette 3-2 on Saturday, Oct. 17. With the pair of victories, Troy (13-11, 6-4 Sun Belt) has now moved up to fourth in the Sun Belt conference standings. Sinclair Portis Staff Writer The Trojan volleyball team took on the Georgia State Panthers on Friday, Oct. 2, defeating them 3-1, and defeating South Alabama 3-2 at home on Tuesday, Oct. 6. They started the first game in high energy, taking the lead early and holding it through the first set, winning 25-12. Sinclair Portis Staff Writer This past weekend the Troy volleyball team opened its season in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the Chattanooga Classic with a win against Eastern Kentucky 3-1, losses against Chattanooga 1-3 and Valparaiso 0-3, and a win at home against UAB 3-2. The Trojans (2-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) came out strong in their opening game at the Chattanooga Classic, winning 3-1 against Eastern Kentucky (0-4, 0-0 Ohio Valley), who won 21 games last year.
