Both games were hosted by Georgia State, with the Trojans taking on the Panthers on Saturday and Coastal Carolina on Sunday. Michael Shipma Sports Editor After losing its first six matches, the Troy women’s tennis team picked up its second win of the spring season by defeating UAB 4-2 on the road in Birmingham. A big part of the Trojans’ win was a clean sweep in doubles play as the duo of Jiayuan Xue and Efriliya Herlina shut out the Blazers’ Natalie Voss and Taylor Factor 6-0. Michael Shipma Sports Editor Sophomore Hannah Seizer led the Troy women’s tennis team in Tuscaloosa this weekend, winning her team’s only singles draw in the Roberta Alison Fall Classic hosted by Alabama. The Trojans struggled in singles play, with the exception of Seizer, while the doubles teams came much closer to victories in their brackets. Seizer advanced to the finals of her bracket after defeating West Alabama’s Andrea Tomassone in three sets.
