Troy football’s originally scheduled home opener against the Warhawks of Louisiana-Monroe has been postponed after a COVID outbreak among the ULM players. The Sept. 5 Sun Belt matchup has been moved to Dec. 5. Troy announces football schedule, will open at home against ULM

After cancelations shook the original Troy Football schedule, Director of Athletics Brent Jones announced an updated 2020 football schedule on Thursday. “I am very pleased how the schedule came together as we lost all four of our non-conference games,” Jones said. “The last three weeks have been extremely grueling; however, we intend to play football this fall.” The schedule features six home games, six road games and three new opponents: BYU, Middle Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky. Warhawks squeeze out a win against the Trojans

Wes Fortson Staff Writer   The Trojans took on the ULM Warhawks, a team known for its productive offense over the past few years, and lost 22-20 on Saturday, Sept. 27. Redshirt freshman quarterback Brandon Silvers got the start after recovering from a concussion against Abilene Christian a few weeks ago. Silvers completed 23 of 34 passing attempts for a total gain of 270 passing yards with three passing touchdowns. The Trojans went on to turn it around and finish that season 8-5, beating the Rice Owls 41-17 in the New Orleans Bowl. Saturday, April 5, saw a double header for the teams as they met on the field at 2 p.m. to face one another toe to toe for nine long innings.
